MEETING NUMBER : 31/82‐ALC4/2009 MEETING DATE : 27.10.2009 The Meeting No.31/82 in the year 2009‐10 to consider the cases under Duty Exemption Scheme (Chapter‐4) of Foreign Trade Policy, 2004‐09 pertaining to products falling in Chapter 29 and 30 was held on 27.10.2009 under the Chairmanship of Addl DGFT, Shri V.K. File No. 01/82/162/00285/AM06 Committee considered case as per agenda and observed that the firm has submitted 5 shipping bills for export product 3C 7ACCA from the date 12.01.2009 to 23.03.2009 and as per these shipping bills, the average FOB value for 1 kg of export product comes to Rs.13,600/‐. Committee also observed that there are twenty two inputs allowed for import under SION A‐2119. The firm has submitted copies of 5 Nos. of Bills of Entries in respect of 15 import items and for the balance 4 import items they have submitted the copy of 2‐4 Bills of Entry. They have not given any copy of Bills of Entry for three import items. The entire data pertains to 2008‐09 and the average cif value has been worked out to Rs.9,065/‐. As per the above data furnished by firm, the value addition comes to 50%. A䬀er detailed deliberations, Committee decided to recommend the case to DEPB Committee with 50% value addition for fixation of DEPB rate. Working sheet may also be sent to DEPB Committee.

M/s Filtra Speciality Catalysts Ltd. File No. 01/82/162/00006/AM10 Committee considered case as per agenda and observed that Chemexcil has certified that M/S Filtra Catalyst & Chemicals Ltd, Thane is the only manufacturer of 3,5 Xylenol, but the letter has not been signed by Executive Director. It was, therefore, decided to ask Chemexcil to furnish the above certificate under the signature of Executive Director. Committee also decided that it would only be appropriate if all recommendations in norms cases are recommended by the C.E.O. of the Chemexcil. The case stands deferred for 24.11.2009. 1
