DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE DESVI (FOOD & MISC) Minutes of the meeting of NCVI held on 13.08.2009 Meeting No. 15/AM10 for the licensing year 200910 to consider cases under Duty Exemption Schemes (Chapter4) of Foreign Trade Policy 200409 pertaining to Misc. & Food Products was held on 13.08.2009 under the Chairmanship of Shri A.K. Deptt. of Commerce Ref No. 1/2/2008FT(M&O) Request for fixation of wastage norms for Mining, Handling, Processing and Export of Iron Ore. Committee considered the case as per agenda. It was noted that comments of Ministry of Mines are awaited. It was decided to remind Ministry of Mines and also to seek comments of M/o Steel. The committee observed that in similar cases of SION E39 & E42 etc. import item is only Hexane which is a consumable item, and SIONs were fixed as the Committee had felt appropriate. In this case, Committee decided to ask the applicant to provide the industrial data for the last 3 years in respect of three companies duly certified by Central Excise Authority for fixing SION. (ii) As regard Fuel and fishing nets for the Ocean catch, the Seafood Exporters Association of India may file separate SION application alongwith industry data through concerned council seeking modification of relevant SION with justification and also as to how Ocean catch fish will be identified.
