Please Note For information of exporters, Norms Committee - VI handles all cases pertaining to fixation/ratification of norms for Export Products falling under ITC (HS) Chapter 1 to 26, 94 to 98 .Communications in respect of cases/pertaining to NC- VI may be sent to email address: nc6.dgft@nic.in I. The Norms Committee has taken decision only with respect to technical aspect/wastage norms. While redeeming the applications, RAs should check that the applicant has fulfilled all requirements as prescribed in policy/procedure including those in Policy Circulars issued from time to time or any other provisions under FTP/HBP for EODC. II. Wherever the Committee has fixed Norms, the concerned RA may ensure that AA is issued on the wastages/consumption as ratified by the Committee or as per wastages claimed in the application, whichever is less. III. As per the COA of imported Root Bark from the foreign supplier, Assay of Reserpine content is shown as 8.06% in the results of testing as per USP method. Same result in the export item is 15.95%. The requirement of Root/Bark directly depends upon Reserpine content. As there is very wide difference betweeen 0.8% and 8.06% Reserpine content in import, it is felt, proposing any norms in the present case may not be feasible." On the basis of the above observation of the Technical Authority, the Norms Committee decided to reject the case with direction to the firm to pay Customs Duty and applicable interest for regularisation of the case. RA may take suitable consequential action accordingly.
