The Meeting No.01/09 of Norms Committee-II was held on 02.04.2008 for
the licensing year 2008-2009 under the Chairmanship of Joint Director General
of Foreign Trade (OPH) to consider the applications under Duty Exemption
Scheme (Chapter-4) of Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. The following members

- Description of export product may be suffixed with “each weighing 18 gm. and containing 12 gm. of lamination and 3.6 gm. of copper wire.
- The quantity of import item No. 1 may be reduced to 2424 kg.(net+1%).
- Description of import item No. 2 may be changed to “Bobbins” and quantity may be reduced to 2,00,000 nos.(net to net).
- The quantity of import item No. 3 may be reduced to 727.2 kg.(net+1%).
- The quantity of import item No. 4 may be allowed as applied for.
- Description of import item No. 5 may be suffixed with “weight not more than 40.8 kg” and quantity may be allowed as 102000mtrs.(net+2%)
- Description of import item No. 6 may be suffixed with “weight not more than 40.4 kg.” and quantity may be allowed as 40400 mtrs.(net+1%)
- The firm should also apply for fixation of SION.
R/A may take suitable consequential action accordingly.

- Requirement of copper wire for 63 MVAR shunt reactor has been shown as 14,200 kg. while quantity for 50 MVAR shunt reactor has been shown as 14,725 kg. Please explain the anomaly and give detailed calculations for quantity of copper material required for each export product. In what exact shape this material will be imported.
- As per PAC, contract value is Rs. 54.56 Crores and import content is 14.83 Crores. In present application, FOB value of export is Rs. 21.75 Crores and import content is 12.31 Crores. This import value is apparently very high vis-à-vis FOB value. This may please be explained in detail.
