Minutes of NC-V meeting held on 05.01.2012

        The meeting No.40/AM-12 for the licensing year 2011-12 to consider the cases under Duty Exemption Schemes (Chapter-4) held on

05.01.2012 in Room No.11 of DGFT under the Chairmanship of Shri A.K. Singh, Jt. DGFT. The following officers were present:-

At the outset the Minutes of NC-V Meeting No.38/AM12 dated 22.12.2011 were ratified. The agenda for meeting No.40/AM-12 dated 05.01.2012 was taken up for discussion and the decision taken in respect of each case is enumerated below:-

It is seen from the ITC (HS) Code 56050090, the item described as metalise yarn, whether or not gimped, being textile yarn, or strip or the like heading 5404 or 5405. In the heading 5404 and 5405, it is mentioned as monofilament yarn, which is synthetic or artificial monofilament yarn. In this code 5404 & 5405, all the product have to be of synthetic textile material of an apparent width not exceeding 5 mm, in the nature of yarn. The yarn could be combined with metal. Accordingly,

PRO version the ITC (HS) Code quoted by the applicant firm does not find under purview of Norms Committee-5. In view of above, the Committee was unable to finalise the norms and constrained to reject the case. RLA may take suitable consequential action accordingly.
