No. 01/84/171/00171/AM20/DES-V 16.01.2019 actually held on 30.06.2020 Decision: Committee considered the case as per agenda along with other relevant papers and noted that council of leather exports vide their request dated 14.08.2019 along with enclosure addressed to DGFT for revision of finished Leather norms as the existing finished leather norms were notified by DGFT vide public notice No-. 2112009 dated 01.12.2009. Since then, many Changes in tanning technology have taken place and many new types of finished leathers have been developed in tune with the requirement of the global market. They have stated that the export of finished leathers have declined from USD 216.83 million in April- June 2018 to USD 152.61 Million in April- June 2019. Hence, reviston of existing finished leather norms as per enclosed recommendations is extremely crucial for revival and growth of exports of finished leathers. Committee observed that DPHT had forwarded the above request to CLERI on 22.10.2019 for their valuable comments. Committee decided to send a reminder to CLERI for above request.
