M/s. Mallow International NC 09/09 dt. 29.05.2008 F.No. 01/84/50/410/AM-07/DES-V Ratification of input output norms against Advance Authorization No.3210034302 dated 30.11.2006 – under Para 4.7 of HBP (Vol.I) 2004-2009. Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda alongwith other relevant papers and heard Sh. R. Sriram, Manager (Export & Logistics) in the firm, who appeared for personal hearing in this case. He explained the case alongwith sample and through Software presentation. He also explained that against the A/A in question, the export products are processed printed cotton made-ups like Table cloths, Cushion cover, Apron, Glove, Potholder, Table Runner, Curtain, Kitchen Towel and Napkin. In the printing stage, the imported printing inks are used that means, the inks are filled in the cartridges and the filled cartridge are kept in the textile printer and the printing of designs will undergo on the fabric as per buyers specification. He told that for printing “MIMAKI Inkjet Printer for Textile ” is used. In the printing stage, the whole area of fabric is printed in 100% area of fabric. After printing, the printed fabrics will undergo the curing process and after curing, the printed fabrics will be cut into different sizes for sewing and final products. It was also explained that approximately 500 Sq mtrs. of fabrics is printed in a day by the unit.
In this connection, Committee also perused the recommendations of TC, Mumbai conveyed vide their letter No. 3(35)/2007/TPDC/5 dated 01.02.2007 by allowing Printing Ink to the extent of 1.5% of the weight of export product. The Committee after detailed deliberations felt that since there is a peculiar problem of computing the exact requirement of Printing Ink, it was decided to ratify the Advance authorization issued in this case by allowing Printing Ink to the extent of 1.5% of the total weight of export product i.e 173 Kgs of Printing Ink may be allowed. It was also decided to advise the applicant firm that in future they should describe the export product as ‘Printed Fabrics & Made-ups’ containing 100% of printing area and in the import item they should mention ‘Inkjet Printing Ink for digital textile printers’
