Case No.1 Reference from Policy Division {PC-4(B)} F.NO.1/84/162/329/AM10-DES-V Identification of SIONs wherein fuel has been allowed as consumables & for which DEPB rates are to be notified. Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda alongwith other relevant papers and observed that PC- 4(B) Section have sought information regarding identification of SIONs of the Textiles & Leather Products group wherein fuel has been allowed as consumables and for which DEPB rate for this component needs to be notified. The Committee observed that in the following SIONs of Textiles (J – group & Leather (G- group) various fuels have been allowed only to those units having facilities for captive power generation:- Textiles Products (J- Group) :- J- 92, J- 96, J-99, J-100, J-101 & J-308. Leather Products (G- Group) :- G-1 and G-39. Thus, Committee observed that in the Textiles & Leather Product Groups, the SIONs do not contain fuel as consumable to be used in the production process directly. Therefore various fuels are allowed only for captive power generation and not as consumables under Textiles & Leather Product Groups. Accordingly, PC-4(B) Section may be informed.
