Reference from PC-IV (B) in respect of M/s Abhishek Industries Ltd., Ludhiana
PRO version NC No.30/AM11 F.No.01/84/162/148/AM11/DES-V Dated 21.10.2010 Clarification for export product G/Bleadhing/Dyed/Madwe- ups/AO/W yarn under DEPB S.No 46A Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda and perused the Internet copy (Bangorex.com) forwarded by R.A, Ludhiana, whereby it is informed that Bamboo fibre is green natural fiber. The Committee after deliberations in consultation with the representative of technical authorities present in the meeting felt that Bamboo tree is grown naturally, but the extract bamboo viscose is converted into fabric through process either mechanically or chemically. The bamboo fibre production flow is : bamboo ->thick pulp ->fine pulp ->bamboo fiber. The viscose bamboo cellulose is reconverted into cellulose bamboo fibre threads, which are spun into bamboo fibre yarn. Therefore, it was felt that the spun yarn i.e Bamboo yarn made from bamboo fibres is a man made fibre rather than technical angle. Hence, it was observed that Bamboo fiber is covered under Man made fibres. It was therefore decided to refer back the case to PC-IV(B) Section with above observation for taking final view by DEPB Committee in the matter.
