Minutes of the Meeting NC-V held on 24.04.2008

The Meeting No. 04/AM-09 for the licensing year 2008-09 to consider the cases under Duty Exemption Schemes (Chapter-4) of Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09 pertaining to Textiles and Leather was held on 24.04.2008 in Room No.4 of DGFT under the Chairmanship of Shri A.K.Singh, Jt. The Committee also perused firm’s letter dated 24.03.2008 informing that exports had already been affected earlier from the date of the communication of said NC decision, hence, it is very difficult for them to produce NOC from D/o Defence Production & Supplies, Govt. of India. However, firm have informed that they could only arrange the certificate dated 18th March, 2008 from the Department of Defence, USA, Joint Contracting Command – Iraq/Afghanistan, Camp Eggars, Afghanistan APO AE 09356 for 2000 Sets (800 Nos. against the A/A in question and balance 1200 Sets against A/A No. 0510181093 dated 20.04.2006 for 1000 Sets and amendment dated 1st June 2006 for 200 Sets) confirming that the supplies received under reference are for the exclusive usage of Afghan National Army. In view of the above, Committee taking lenient view, decided to waive the condition to produce NOC from D/o Defence Production & Supplies, Govt. of India and advise R.A to verify the genuineness of the Certificate dated 18.03.2008 referred above in consultation with the High Commission/Embassy of Afghanistan.
