Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda alongwith other relevant papers and heard Sh. Dhiraj Raina, Fabric Manager and Sh. Maninder Singh, an authorized representative of the firm, who appeared for personal hearing. They explained the case alongwith sample and relevant details. They informed that however, this case was covered under SION, J-288, but in view of General Note No. 14 of Textile Product i.e ‘Items allowed in the norms covered by S.No. J-270 to J-296 are of fabrics other than silk fabrics’ R.A did not issue it under Norms case, hence, they applied it under Para 4.7. In view of this Committee after deliberations in consultation with representatives of technical authorities present in the meeting decided to ratify the advance authorization issued in this case taking cue from SION, J-288 as detailed below: Export item Import item Qty. allowed Ladies Dress made from 65% cotton 35% silk solid dyed fabric, GSM-40+/-10% 65% cotton 35% silk solid dyed fabric, width –53/54”, GSM-40+/- 10% 3.4743 Sq mtrs./Pc The GSM should match in both import & export.
