The Meeting No. 22/AM-09 for the licensing year 2008-09 to consider the cases under Duty Exemption Schemes (Chapter-4) of 28.08.2008 in Room No.4 of DGFT under the Chairmanship of Shri A.K.Singh, Jt. At the outset the Minutes of NC Meeting Nos. 17/AMO9 dated 24.07.2008, 18/AMO9 dated 31.07.2008, 19/AMO9 dated 07.08.2008, 20/AMO9 dated 14.08.2008 and 21/AMO9 dated 21.08.2008 were ratified. The Agenda for individual cases for Meeting No. 22/AM09 was taken up for discussion and the decision taken in respect of each case is enumerated below: -

The Committee felt that the description of import item given therein i.e 1005 flax/linen yarn (knotted & containing slubs and thick & thin places) does not seem to be specific. Further, process flow chart alongwith stage-wise wastage given by the firm is also not clear. Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda alongwith other relevant papers and heard Smt.
PRO version Neelam Negi, an authorized representative of the firm, who appeared for personal hearing in this case. She explained the case without sample of export items. The Committee was not satisfied with the presentation, hence advised the representative to attend personal hearing in its meeting to be held on 11.09.2008 alongwith sample. Hence, case stands deferred for re-listing on 11.09.2008.

Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda alongwith other relevant papers and heard Smt. Neelam Negi, an authorized representative of the firm, who appeared for personal hearing in this case. She explained the case alongwith CAD. The Committee after deliberations in consultation with representatives of technical authorities present in the meeting decided to ratify the advance authorization issued in this case by allowing the item of import @ 3.26 Sq mtrs./Pc against the A/A in question. The nominee of AEPC was advised that a circular may be issued from AEPC to the effect that wherever, Qty. is asked more than that of Qty. allowed in SION, specific Style No., design should invariably be mentioned in export product.
The RLA shall be advised to take necessary action subject to compliance of other usual conditions.
