Minutes of NC-V meeting held on 28.11.2013

        The meeting No.33/AM-14 for the licensing year 2013-14 to consider the cases under Duty Exemption Schemes (Chapter-

At the outset, the Minutes of NC-V Meetings Nos.32/AM-14, dated 21.11.2013 were taken for ratification. As there were no amendments to the same, the above referred minutes of 21.11.2013 were adopted for implementation by the Committee without any amendment. The agenda for meeting No.33/AM-14 dated 28.11.2013 was taken up for discussion and the decision taken in respect of each case is enumerated below:-

Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda alongwith other relevant papers and observed that applicant firm has requested to provide the quantity of 2.706 sq. meter per piece in respect of import item No.1 in place of 2.70 sq. meter per piece. The Committee agreed with the request of applicant firm for changing the quantity of import item No.1 from 2.70 sq. meter per piece to 2.706 sq. meter per piece. The necessary correction has already been made with the approval of Chairman, Norms Committee- 5. The Committee after deliberations agreed to give its ex-post-facto approval for the necessary amendment in the quantity of import item No.1 in this case.

Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda alongwith other relevant papers and seen the letter of Textile Commissioner, Mumbai and observed that the reply of Textile Commissioner, Mumbai is tentative and based on if and buts. The Committee cannot take a decision on this kind of information. Further, it was observed that the case for norms is pending with Board of Approvals of the Department of Commerce. It was decided that the matter may be taken up with Department of Commerce separately.
