The Meeting No. 17/AM-09 for the licensing year 2008-09 to consider the cases under Duty Exemption Schemes (Chapter-4) held on 24.07.2008 in Room No.4 of DGFT under the Chairmanship of Shri A.K.Singh, Jt. The Shipping Bill No.56788 dated 19.8.2005 indicate as Cotton/Silk & Velvet skirt. As per the representation of applicant, they are seeking finalization on Cotton/Silk and velvet blended fabric as an input. The Committee decided that the Cotton/Silk Fabric blended as well as cotton/silk velvet blended fabric have nexus with the export product. Hence, the case may be transferred to the Policy Division.

Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda and alongwith other relevant papers and observed that this case is under examination of DC(MSME) and comments are still awaited from them. It was therefore decided to defer the case for re-listing on 21.08.2008.

Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda and in consultation with the representatives of technical authorities present in the meeting decided to ratify the Advance authorization issued in this case on the basis of written comments of DC (MSME) conveyed vide their U.O NO. 37(5)/208/2006-07/Hosy. dated 23.07.2008 as detailed below: - (1) In the item of import No. 1, the fabric having specifications 60X60X/84X72, GSM-65 (30877.47 Sq mtrs.) appears to be correct and the fabric having specifications 60X60/20X20, GSM-240 appears to be incorrect as the fabric having GSM-240 cannot be woven with cotton yarn count 60, with 20X20 Reed & Pick. In view the above, Committee decided to seek clarification from firm with regard to the specifications of fabric 60X60/20X20, GSM-240 mentioned in import item No.1 before taking a final view in this case. The case stands deferred for re-listing on 21.08.2008.
