Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda and it was found that the firm had earlier applied for import of lodine against export of (1) Periodic Acid (and (2) Ethylene Diamine Dihydroiodide. This was examined earlier in line with yields indicated by the firm and norms were approved. Now the firm represented for the lower norms and claimed that they have actually imported crude iodine having 85% purity and requested for higher quantity. Committee is of the opinion that Crude iodine purity as 85% has not been endorsed in the advance Authorisation and party is allowed to import 100% purity basis material too. They have not produced any document to rely on that thgey have imported less purity material. Therefore committee decided to reject the case.
