Minutes of NC-V meeting held on 07.02.2013

        The meeting No.44/AM-13 for the licensing year 2012-13 to consider the cases under Duty Exemption Schemes (Chapter-

At the outset, the Minutes of NC-V Meeting Nos.42/AM-13, dated 24.01.2013 and 43/AM-13, dated 31.01.2013 was taken for ratification. As there were no amendments to the same, the above referred minutes of 24.01.2013 and 31.01.2013 were adopted for implementation by the Committee without any amendment. G7 and G46 as Sodium Hydro-sulphite is not consumed during the production of the articles and disallow import of SHS in these entries as it is not being used in the final product but is being sold in the market without imposition of ADD. Decision: The Committee considered the case as per agenda alongwith other relevant papers and decided to ask the technical comments from Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai and Council for Leather Exports, Chennai on the following:-

i) Whether the import item has been misused by the importer; and ii) Relevance of the import item at present in the manufacturing of export product.
