Cases to re listed on 29.07.2010.               19 167 M/S. KARANDIKARS CASHELL PVT. LTD Status: Transferred   HQ File :01/85/162/0002/AM11  Modification of SION E­15 (Export Product Dextrin)   The case was considered by the committee as per agenda.  It was noted that no  Industrial Data  has been received from concerned EPC . However, since the export product (Dextrin) pertains to Chapter 29, DES­III may consider the matter including the request for shifting the SION from Food Products to Chemicals Group. Case is transferred to DES.III and closed.     20 168 M/S. D.D. INTL (P) LTD., AMRITSAR Status:  Deferred HQ File :01/85/162/0084/AM11  Modification of SION E­38 (Export Product –ALL VARITIES OF RICE) The case was considered by the committee as per agenda.  The Committee decided to call from the applicant Firm following information:­ 1. Industry data regarding  Production/Consumption at least from  3 representative companies   certified by Central Excise Authority alongwith recommendation of concerned EPC. In the mean time  the case may be referred to Ministry of Agriculture, Deptt of  Agriculture Research   & Education   (ICAR) for comments. To be re listed on 29.07.2010.     21 169 M/S. MARICO LTD., MUMBI Status:  Deferred HQ File :01/85/162/00376/AM10  Request of issue of advance authorization under para 4.4.2 of HBP, Vol. I, for export of Milling Grade Copra agsint import of Copra (Grade .II). Committee took note of the analytical report from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.  It was noted that the report does not indicate (i) the weight of Copra analyzed, and (ii) whether the sample was imported or not.  Since all facts and details are not  available, Committee decided to call applicant for PH with samples to explain the matter alongwith following information:­ 1. Whether there is any test report for moisture content in export/import product. 2. How much moisture is absorbed on exposure. 3. Nature of packing material in import/export product. 4. Whether the end product is edible grade or not.   To be re listed on 29.07.2010

22 170 Ref. from PC­4 Status: Clarification   HQ File :01/85/162/0090/AM11 PC­4 F.No. 01/94/180/1131/AM10/PC­4 Regarding fixation of SION for proprietary products.     Policy Section has requested for comments regarding the procedure followed by NC in fixation of SION or adhoc norms where the applicant firm is the sole manufacture of proprietary item/product.   Committee noted that in so far as Marine Products, Food & Misc Products SION has not been fixed for proprietary items. Committee felt that there are two issues: i)                    about the method of fixing SION for proprietary item ii)                   method of fixing SION where there is only single manufacturer, but product may not be proprietary.   Technical member, informed that standard have not been fixed under PFA for proprietary items particularly in Food Sector.  Committee was of the view that proprietary products can always be considered under Para 4.4.2 or 4.7 for fixation of norms, on a case to case basis.   With  regard  to  sole  manufacturer,  it  was  felt  that  committee  can  take  a  view  and  finalize  in  case    the  item  is  standard  product  and  not proprietary item keeping in view technical comments on reasonable of wastage.   Case may be referred back to Policy Section.         ­x­x­x­
