Meeting No. 9/87-NC-7/2010 of NORMS COMMITTEE (NC-7) dealing with ‘Plastic & Rubber Products’ held on 02.06.2010 under the Chairmanship of Shri Amitabh Jain, Addl. DGFT, Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi-110011. Following officers attended the Meeting:

Application: Request is for modification in Standard Input – Output Norms at S. No. H-444

Decision: Shri Karthik Venkatraman Kumar, Logistics Manager – the Authorized Representative of the firm appeared before the Norms Committee and made the following submissions:

(i) That the change in description of export product contained in SION No. H 444 is required due to Central Excise classifying the item instead of Chapter Heading 7607 to Chapter heading 4811 which has the description as “Aseptic Packaging material” and such change does not alter the nature of the export product.

(ii) That the proposed inclusion of LK-film (Multilayered Blown Film) is as an alternate input required to be used in lieu of LLDPE/HDPE/MLLDPE Granules for some specified products like liquor, coconut milk, for extra barrier properties.

(iii) That there would be no change in the quantity of any inputs.

         2.        The Norms Committee, in view of above oral submissions and the written comments of C&PC vide O.M. NO.

46011/42/2009-PC-II dated 29-01-2010, decided to recommend amendment of SION H-444 to allow change of description of export product as “Aseptic Packaging Material and also decided to allow ‘L.K. Film’ as an alternate input in addition to LLDPE/HDPE/MLLDPE granules at S.No.4 of Import Item. The amended SION at S. No. H-444 would be as under:
