Balls of various dia. This matter was further discussed in the NC Meeting held on 2.2.2012 as per the observations of DG in the relevant file on import item No. 2 {“Tungsten Carbide Balls”/and import item No. 3 (“Cutting Tools, Drill Oil & Chemical” (in SION C1937)}. “Tungsten Carbide Balls” is the import item in all the SIONs except C864, whereas in SION C864, “Stainless Steel Balls/ Ceramic Balls/ Tungsten Carbide Balls” has been mentioned as import No.2. The technical representatives were of the view that import item No.2 was allowed as per the requests received from the exporters at different periods. SION C864 was notified much earlier but subsequently only “Tungsten Carbide Balls” are being given as the input. The members agreed that the import item “Tungsten Carbide Balls” may be mentioned as import item No.2 in all the SIONs for the sake of uniformity.
As regards the import item “Cutting Tools, Drill Oil & Chemical” provided in SION C1937, the technical representatives suggested that these inputs may be allowed in all the norms as these are consumables and generally required for manufacture of export product. Accordingly, the committee recommended for inclusion of these inputs in the standard norms in the Public Notice proposed to be issued. XXX
