A reference from Policy Division, regarding revision of minimum value addition under Advance Authorization Scheme for specific products on the basis of representation of Petroleum Federation of India (PETROFED) has been received for consideration in Norms Committee. Policy Division opined that one of the criteria is to cross check the relevance of the existing SION and the inputs allowed therein. The matter was referred to Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for their comments.

        Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas vide their O.M.No.p-19011/12/2010-Sup. dated 13/7/2010 have stated that the

representation of PETROFED for revision of the Standard Input-Output Norms under SION Sl.No.A-2687 to A-2690 and A- 3625 has been examined in consultation with Petroleum and Planning Analysis Cell (PPAC), Ministry of P&NG. As there are no significant changes in the yield pattern of Indian Refineries since 2001-2002, at which point of time the SION were fixed, M/o P&NG have felt that there may be no need for revision of the existing SION of the said petroleum products.

        The Committee considered the case as per agenda.

The recommendation of M/o Petroleum and Natural Gas was discussed in Norms Committee and, accordingly, it was decided that there is no need for revision of the existing SION No.A-2687, A-2688, A-2689, A-2690 and A-3625.
