DGFT Committee Minutes
Minutes of EFC No.3/08 dated 5.6.07 3rd meeting of Export Facilitation Committee (EFC) was held under Chairmanship of Dr. Shyam Agarwal, Additional DGFT. 2. The list of officials present is annexed. (Annexure 1). 3. Following decisions were taken by EFC, 3.1 To avoid time delay, cases shall be processed on file as and when comments of Technical Authorities (TA) are received. Thereafter it shall be placed in EFC for ex post facto approval. 3.2 EFC meeting shall be held on 3rd Thursday of every month. 3.3 To facilitate importers, guidelines with respect to product category shall be formulated in consultation with TA. These guidelines shall be on website for information of Trade & Industry. This will considerably reduce the license application processing time. 3.4 With regard to cases pertaining to WPC (DoT) the applicants shall be advised to get WPC license before applying to DGFT. Thereafter these cases need not be referred to WPC, DoT for comments. 3.5 Cases where additional information is sought by TA, a copy of correspondence shall be endorsed to DGFT as well. If applicant is not forthcoming with information called by TA then it may be rejected after lapse of reasonable time. 3.6 Pertaining to cases examined, the following decisions were taken: (i) 21 cases were approved (Annexure 2). (ii) 15 cases were rejected (Annexure 3). Committee observed that cases no. 35 & 37 pertain to import of prohibited items. Such cases should be considered on file in future for a decision and may not be put up in EFC if no approval is sought. (iii) 102 cases were deferred for next meeting (Annexure 4). (iv) Case specific decision were taken on 11 cases (Miscellaneous Annexure 5) 4. Meeting ended with thanks to all participants. ANNEXURE 1 PARTICIPANTS
