An area measuring 6,78,985 sq. mtrs.(Phase-I) & 2,44,232 sq. mtrs. (Phase-II) within the jurisdiction of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), Taluka - Uran, Distt. Raigad, Maharashtra operated by M/s. Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Pvt. Ltd. (BMCTPL), which includes 2000 meters of Quay (1000mtr of Phase-I & 1000mtr of Phase-II) and approach Trestle, Container-Yard, Intake Gate-Complex, Container Road In-take Area and Rail Yard, backyard lying on the south side, and the area near the rail end and outside area adjacent to the Main gate to Terminal gate for Rail Container Movement facility of M/s. BMCTPL has been declared as the Customs Area in terms of Notifications Nos. 04/2017 dated 25.05.2017, 12/2017 dated 29.09.2017, 16/2017 dated 29.11.2017, 09/2018 dated 04.07.2018, 10/2018 dated 04.07.2018, 05/2025 dated 14/01/2025, 20/2025 dated 14/02/2025 and 40/2025 dated 09.05.2025 issued under Section 8 of the Customs Act, 1962.

2. Now, in exercise of the powers conferred on me under section 45(1) and 141 (2) of the Customs Act, 1962, I, B. Sumidaa Devi, Commissioner of Customs, Nhava Sheva- General, Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, hereby appoint M/s Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Pvt Ltd to be custodian of the imported goods received in area of 63,941 sq. mtrs as mentioned in the enclosed layout plan of M/s Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Pvt. Ltd. and 2,44,232 sq. mtrs (Phase II) until these goods are cleared for home consumption, or are warehoused or delivered to the container freight stations or are transshipped in accordance with the provision of Chapter VIII of the Customs Act, 1962. Similarly, M/s Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Pvt Ltd will also be the Custodian of the Export Cargo brought into said notified area, till their exportation through Jawaharlal Nehru Port.

3. Further, in exercise of the powers conferred on me under Regulation 10 of the Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas Regulations 2009, I, B. Sumidaa Devi, Commissioner of Customs, Nhava Sheva- General, JNCH hereby appoint M/s. BMCT Pvt. Ltd. as a 'Customs Cargo Services Provider' for the above mentioned entire area (notified as Customs Area vide public notices PN 05/2025 dated 14/01/2025, PN 20/2025 dated 14/02/2025, PN 40/2025 dated 09.05.2025 and PN 78/2025 dated 15.10.2025), located within the jurisdiction of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, Taluka: Uran, Dist. - Raigad, Maharashtra, subject to following conditions:

a. The Custodian M/s Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Pvt Ltd approved as Customs Cargo Services Provider for the said area shall abide by all provisions of the Customs Act, 1962 and the regulations of the Handling of cargo in Customs Area Regulations 2009, other rules, notifications, orders issued there under. b. The duration of the appointment of M/s Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Pvt Ltd as ‘Custodian’ and as the ‘Customs Cargo Service Provider’ will be valid till AEO authorisation is valid i.e. 30.05.2029 or till date the authorisation is revoked.
c. The Commissioner of Customs (NS-General) shall have the right to review the approval as ‘Customs Cargo Service Provider’ before 30.05.2029 for failure to comply with any of the Regulations of the Handling of Cargo in Customs Area Regulations 2009 or as per the directions of the Government of India.
