PUBLIC NOTICE NO:35 /2022-23 Subject: General Waiver of penalty for late filing of Bill of Entry due to the ICES being down for DR Drill and Maintenance — reg.

Attention of all importers, Exporters, Custom Brokers, Trade and other Stakeholders is invited to the Advisory No. 11/2022 dated 22.06.2022 issued by Directorate General of Systems for Disaster Recovery Drill from 24th June to 26th June, 2022. As per the Advisory, filling of Bill of Entry at Service Centers and through RES was stopped at 22.00 Hours on 24th June, 2022. Though the ICES was functioning intermittently on 25.06.2022, the members of trade have conveyed that they faced difficulty in filing the Bills of Entry, on time, on that day. 2. In order to address the situation mentioned above and as a measure of trade facilitation, it has been decided that “late fee” imposable in terms of Bill of Entry (forms) amendment Regulation, 2017 vide Notification No. 27/2017-Customs (N.T) dated 31.03.2017 will not be collected for 25t» and 26% June ,2022, if a Bill of Entry could not be filed on these days. This waiver however is subject to submission of negative acknowledgement / proof of non-generation of Bill of Entry Number.

3. This Public Notice shall be considered as a Standing Order for the purpose of officers and staff of the department.
