Sub: In partial modification of Public Notice No.18/2020 dated 25.03.2020 “Facilitation Of Clearance Of Import Cargo Due To Delay Arising Due to Outbreak Of Corona Virus”-reg.

Attention of the importers, exporters, Customs Brokers and all other stakeholders is invited to the Public Notice No. 18/2020 dated 25.03.2020 issued on the subject matter of ‘Facilitation of clearance of import and export consignment due to outbreak of Corona Virus.

As per above public notice, late fee waiver for Late filing of Bills of Entry was granted for those Bill of Entry which pertain to IGM filed on and after 20 March 2020, if filed late for clearance of consignment due to lock down.

Now, Services related to clearance of consignment has been restored and Lock down has been relaxed substantially. Thus, it has been decided that in terms of ‘Bill of Entry (Forms) Amendment Regulations, 2017’ vide Notification No. 27/2017- Cus.(N.T.) dated 31.03.2017 read with second proviso to Section 46(3) of the Customs Act, 1962, entry Inward granted for vessels upto 31st May 2020 and Bills of Entries filed in respect of same till 8th June 2020 for clearance of consignments will continue to enjoy waiver of late fee charges. In respect of other Bills of entry, normal late fees charges shall apply unless specifically exempted on a case to case basis by the competent authority.

Action to be taken in terms of decisions taken in this Public Notices should be considered as standing order for the purpose of officers and

staff.

In case of any difficulty, the specific issue may be brought to the notice of ADC/JC, Import-I, NCH, Mumbai or ADC/JC, ICD, Mulund.
