Additions in the Hand Book of Procedure (Vol.2), 2004-2009.

(TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY PART­I­SECTION­1)   GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE   PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 52(RE:2007)/2004­2009 NEW DELHI  : DATED : 27/9/2007               In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the  Foreign Trade Policy, 2004­09 and Paragraph 1.1 of Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following additions in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 2004­ 2009, as amended.   2.         In the General Notes for Textiles (Product Code: J) the following two General Notes may be incorporated:­   16.       It is clarified that in SIONs where import of relevant fabric is permitted in terms of square meters per unit of an export product, an average wastage of 10% is already taken into account while permitting the said import quantity.   17.       It is further clarified that in SIONs where import of relevant fabric is permitted in terms of square meters per unit of an export product,  the  import  of  relevant  fabric  be  limited  to  (10%  +  Actual  utilization  in  Square  Meters)  or  quantity  permitted  in  SION, whichever is lower.             Actual utilization in square meters can be calculated from GSM declared on shipping bill and Net weight of export consignment using the formula Square Meter = Net Weight * 1000 / GSM.             This shall also be applied in case of grant of DFIA benefits.”   This issues in public interest.                       Sd/­      (R.S. GUJRAL) DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE      (F.No.01/84/162/572/AM­08/DES­V)
