Subject: Capturing mandatory additional parameters for the CTHs – 23040020 and 23040030- reg.

Attention of all Importers/Exporters, Custom Brokers and other stakeholders is drawn to D.G. System, ICES, Advisory No. 21/2021 dated 09.09.2021 (copy enclosed) on the above mentioned subject.
2. For effective monitoring of imports of GM soya de-oiled cake by the Government of India and the directions received from Board in this regard, certain additional mandatory declarations are being sought from the importer in order to distinguish the GM soya de-oiled cake from other non-GM commodities or ones fit for human consumption.
3. Accordingly, changes have been done in System for seeking additional parameters mandatorily for the concerned CTH viz. 23040020 & 23040030 as below:-
Type Type (Coded) Qualifier Qualifier (Coded) Value to be provided in Mandatory/ Optional Category CTG Grade of the product GRA In addition to existing entries, NHG may be added. (Grade Not fit for Human consumption) Mandatory Category CTG GM Status GMS LMO - Living Modified Organism

Mandatory GMO - Genetically Modified Organism NMO - Non-Living Genetically Modified Organism NGM - Not subjected to Genetic modification

The above declarations are in addition to the declarations already being sought for FSSAI related CTHs. 5. This Public Notice should be considered as Standing Order for the concerned Officers and Staff of Customs JNCH.
