SUB: CONSTITUTION OF TRADE ADVISORY EXPERT VALUERS NOMINATED FOR VALUATION/EXAMINATION OF PRECIOUS / SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES -REG.

Attention of the importers, exporters, Customs Brokers and all other stakeholders is invited to above cited subject matter of constitution of trade advisory expert valuers nominated for valuation / examination of precious / semi-precious stone.

The above practice valuation of goods declared under Chapter 71 were reviewed. Expert valuers empanelled by Customs. Mumbai Zone – III to be consulted wherever any expert opinion is required. 3. Any reference to approved expert valuers for valuation of consignment shall be made only after obtaining prior approval of AC / DC, Assessment Groups and Docks. The concerned officer may get the examination and valuation of precious / semi-precious cargo done under his supervision. The empanelled approved expert valuer shall come to JNCH, Mumbai Zone II, for valuation of Import consignments as and when called by DC/AO/Supdt. Docks. A register has to be maintained in concerned Appraising Group for monitoring the number of cases referred to empanelled Approved expert valuers and details of Bills of Entry, empanelled valuer’s name, observations and remarks shall be noted in the register.

In case of any difficulty, the specific issue may be brought to the notice of ADC / JC, Group III, NS – III or DC/Ac in charge of Group III, NS III. JNCH, Mumbai Zone – II.
