Subject: - Pilot implementation of paperless processing under SWIFT — Uploading of
supporting documents regarding -Reg.
Attention of all the Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers, other stake holders and
members of the trade is invited to the Public Notice No. 83/2018 dated 17.05.2018 issued
by JNCH.

Under this facility the authorized persons (Customs Brokers/ Importers) are
required to submit all the original documents online on ICEGATE after affixing digital
signatures and generating a unique ID Image Reference number (IRN). The detailed
procedure for uploading the supporting documents has been explained in the Public Notice
No. 83/2018.

The procedure requires the authorised persons to upload the verified original
document by submitting a request for amendment at the Service Center. The trade has
represented that the persons manning the Service Center require signature of the group
officers before carrying out the amendment in system. In this regard, it is clarified that the
for the purpose of carrying out the amendment to link the original documents verified by
the officers of “Central Original Document Verification Cell”, the signature of the officers on
the hard copy will be sufficient and there shall be no need to separately obtain signature of
the assessment officers or out of charge officer.

It is further clarified that for uploading any additional document as a result of query
raised by assessing officer or out of charge officer, there is no need to obtain signature of
the officer for uploading the same in system as amendment, however, the importers are
cautioned to upload the appropriate reply only, otherwise, another query may be raised on
the same which may lead to increase in dwell time.

To facilitate smooth functioning of this facility of uploading the supporting
documents, the feedback, queries/difficulties, in implementation of this Public Notice, if any,
shall be brought to the notice of the undersigned or may be addressed to the Deputy
