Subject: Minimum Export Price(MEP) for export of Sona Masuri and Ponni Samba rice.
In exercise of the powers conferred by Para 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 20092014, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Public Notice No. 36 (RE2010)/20092014 dated 01.03.2011 relating to procedure for export of 1,50,000 MTs of Non Basmati Rice( Sona Masuri, Ponni Samba & Matta rice varieties). Notification No. 21(RE2010)/20092014 dated 10th February 2011 had permitted export of these 3 varieties of rice with respective quantity ceilings. 2. A new subpara (v) shall be added after number (iv) at the end of para 3 of Public Notice No. 36 (RE2010)/20092014 dated 01.03.2011. The new subpara 3(v) will be as under: “3. ………………………… (v) The export of Sona Masuri and Ponni Samba varieties of nonBasmati rice shall be subject to a Minimum Export Price (MEP) of USD 850 per MT.” 3. Effect of this Public Notice: Sona Masuri, Ponni Samba and Matta varieties of rice were permitted to be exported as per Notification No. 21 of 10.02.2011. Now, MEP of USD 850 has been prescribed for Sona Masuri rice and PonniSamba rice. No MEP is being prescribed for Matta rice. There is no change in other conditions mentioned in Public Notice No. 36 (RE 2010)/20092014 dated 01.03.2011. (Anup K.
