Amendments in Handbook of Procedures, Vol. I RE2008.

TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRA ORIDINARY (PART – I SECTION‐I) GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE   DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE   PUBLIC NOTICE NO.  148  (RE‐2008)/2004‐2009   NEW DELHI, DATED THE  17th February, 2009               In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004‐09, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Handbook of Procedures, Vol. I (RE 2008):   1.      In Appendix 37 D, in Table 2 for Sports Goods, Fire Works and  StaƟonery Items, the following amendment is  made:‐   (i)     In Table 2, against Sl. No. 6, under the column with heading “ITC(HS) Code”, two  new ITC(HS) Codes, i.e., 650610 and 420321 are inserted, in addiƟon to the exisƟng ITC(HS) Code 9506. (ii)   In Table 2, under the column with heading “DescripƟon” (of focus products), the product descripƟon against Sl. No. 6  is amended to read as under:   “ArƟcles & equipment for gymnasƟcs, athleƟcs, other sports (including Table Tennis)/outdoor games, n.e.s.; swimming pools & paddling pools, cricket helmets and gloves, miƩens and miƩs, specially designed for use in sports.”    2.        Consequently, export of cricket helmets (covered under ITC (HS) Code 650610) and gloves, miƩens and miƩs, specially designed for use in sports (covered under ITC(HS) Code 420321) will be enƟtled for Focus Product Scheme  benefits on exports made w.e.f 1.4.2008.   This issues in Public interest.   Sd/‐  (R.S. Gujral) Director General of Foreign Trade And Ex‐Officio AddiƟonal Secretary to the Government of India
