Amendments in Handbook of Procedures, Vol. I RE2008

TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRA ORIDINARY (PART – I SECTION­I) GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY DEPT. OF COMMERCE  DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE     PUBLIC NOTICE NO.     103 (RE­2008)/2004­2009 NEW DELHI, DATED THE    7th November, 2008               In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004­09, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Handbook of Procedures, Vol. I RE2008.   1.      In Table 14 of Appendix 37A of the HBP v1, the following is added after Sr. No. 2:   Table 14. – New VKGUY products   Note:  The  products  included  in  this  Table  shall  be  entitled  for  duty  credit  scrip  on  exports  made  w.e.f 1.4.2008.   Sl. No VKGUY Product Code ITC HS Code Description Date  of  export from  which benefits  will  be admissible 3 14.3 1005 MAIZE (CORN) COVERED BY ITC HS CODE 1005.     1.4.2008   1.       It is clarified that exports made during the ban period under the transitional arrangements in terms of Para 1.5 of FTP may not be allowed the benefits of VKGUY Scheme, in view of Para 3.8.2.2 (d) of FTP. In this regard, attention is also invited to Para 4 of Policy Circular No 26 (RE2007) / 2004­09 dated 9.1.2008. Further it is also clarified that Date of Export is determined under Para 9.12 of HBPv1 and accordingly for exports made under Para 9.12, VKGUY would be entitled.   This issues in Public interest.     Sd/­ (R.S. Gujral) Director General of Foreign Trade and Ex­Officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India
