TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY (PARTI, SECTION1) GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE PUBLIC NOTICE No. 12 /200409 NEW DELHI, Dated: 04th October,2004 Subject: Procedure for import of certain items under the IndiaNepal Treaty of Trade signed on 2.3.2002 amendment therein. In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy 200409, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies the following amendments in Public Notice No. 9/200207 dated 30.04.2002 and Public Notice No. 30/200207 dated 23.10.2003 prescribing the procedure for import of certain items under the IndoNepal Treaty of Trade signed on 2.3.2002: The following sub Para 1A shall be amended to read as under: 1. “ However the time period for import of Vegetable fats (Vanaspati) from Nepal for the year 20032004 shall be extended upto 05.12.2004 and the unutilized quota shall not lapse till this date. The annual quota of 100,000 MTs of Vegetable fats (Vanspati) for the financial year 20042005 from Nepal shall be permitted for import from 6.12.2004 to 5.3.2005”. 2. “ State Trading Corporation (STC) & the associates to be appointed by STC will be the agencies to import the specified quantity of vegetable oils (vanaspati) subject to the overall responsibility of STC who will ensure its distribution and monitoring as per Government Policy.” This issues in the Public interest.
