Request: Modification in the unit of measurement of Export Products.

Decision: Above seven cases of M/s Amiantit Fibreglass Industries India Pvt. Ltd. were discussed in detail in Personal Hearing with the representative of firm Shri Pratham Wagle, Assistant Manager-Commercial and Indirect Taxation. It was explained to him that the wastage norms are fixed based on weight basis only and wastage norms cannot be fixed based on meter / numbers only.

  1.     The representative of firm explained that in the export product they have to indicate Meter / Number as exporter places the

order based on these parameters only. He further explained that out of 15 cases for which they have made application, in 14 cases exports have already been affected and in those 14 cases the export document alongwith the description of the product only in Meter / Number have been indicated. Hence, it will not be possible for them to indicate weight in export product, but from today, in any export document they will mention weight also.

  1.     After detailed discussions with the representative of D/o C&PC and DIPP and based on their recommendations, the Committee

decided that the firm will work out the weight of these export products based on information given in the application in respect of each of the export product in each advance licence, prepare a statement for each export product, in each of licence, duly certified by Chartered Accountant and submit this information to RLA with other documents. The weight per Meter will also have the tolerance limit of +/-2% considering the nature of export product.

  1.     Following seven cases of M/s Amiantit Fibreglass Industries India Pvt. Ltd., Goa were also considered out of Agenda by NC

and approved as per the above recommendation:

imported under advance licence has been fully accounted for, excluding wastage, and in case the statement at any time is found wrong then the firm will be liable to pay customs duty alongwith applicable interest.
