Subject: Procedure to be followed in case of selection of ICD

rail bound container for scanning at DTCS-01 near PUB -reg.

1. Attention of the Importers, General Trade, Port Terminal Operators, Shipping Lines/ Shipping Agents, Container Freight Stations coming under the jurisdiction of Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House and all other stakeholders is invited to the Public Notice No.04/2019 dated. 04.01.2019, Public Notice No. 146/2018 dated. 09.11.2018 and Public Notice 31/2021 dated 30.03.2021and other relevant public notice about procedure to be followed for scanning of containers selected for scanning.

2. In this regard, representations were received from stakeholder regarding scanning of the rail bound ICD container under transshipment. It is brought to the notice of the undersigned that the ICD rail bound container under transshipment are being selected for scanning at DTCS-01 which is located outside the port terminal. The matter was examined, it is informed that, in the case, if ICD bound rail container under transshipment selected for DTCS-01 near PUB, the same can be scanned at DTCS-02 or MXCS which are located inside the port. No further permission is required from the CSD, JNCH in this regard.

3. This Public Notice shall come into force with immediate effect. All the previous Public Notices and Standing Orders on this issue stand modified to the above extent.

4. This Public Notice should be considered as a Standing Order for the concerned Officers and Staff of this Custom House.

5. In case of any dispute emerges on the points/procedures which have not been incorporated in this Public Notice however the points/procedure are, clarified in other Public -Notice issued by JNCH. The Public Notices already in public domain may be contemplated/envisaged for resolution of dispute/grievances.
