The Meeting No. 24/AM-12 for the licensing year 2011-12 to consider the cases under Duty Exemption Schemes (Chapter-4) held on 15.09.2011 in Room No.11 of DGFT under the Chairmanship of Shri A.K.Singh, Jt. DGFT. The following officers were present: -

The firm has asked clarification of the usage of words ‘such as’ in SION G-7 and G-46 and whether “such as” description will allow coverage of vegetable materials containing tannin viz. Wattle, Babul, Avaram Konnam, Sal, Arjuna, Myrobalan, Ghatbor, Arecanut, Canaigre, Sal Seeds, Cashew Husks, Tamarind Husk. The first item Wattle has already been mentioned in the SION and for other vegetable materials, the firm has not given complete technical details and justification for inclusion in main vegetable tanning agent / re-tanning agent / supplementary tanning agent. Therefore, Committee after deliberation decided to close this case.
