Merino India Ltd. have made an application for amendment in SIONs H301 & H-302 for the export of single side decorative laminate with / without barrier paper and M/s Greenlam Industries Ltd, Kolkata has also requested for amendment in SIONs H302 & H68 (Double Decorative Laminates with Barrier Paper ) as under: 1. SION H301 for the export of single side decorative laminates with barrier paper: Amendment | Existing Amendment | Justification given by the firm requested Description requested for Import for S. No. Al Kraft paper | Kraft paper | At present, all overseas suppliers are (60gsm-205 gsm) (60 gsm
- | manufacturing and supplying the Kraft paper 350 gsm) from 200 GSM to 350 GSM only. Only few overseas manufacturers are supplying kraft paper below 205 GSM but a very high price”. Indian Laminate manufacturers are not able to import the Kraft paper due to restrictions of GSM imposed in above stated SIONs. The input is allowed in kg. term in both these SIONs, hence the variation/increase in GSM will not supersede the intentions/motive of the SION at all.

Export product:- In this case Norms committee approved the export description as “Photo Print Kit 7000/6R’ where as they have mentioned the export product as Photo Print Kit 7000. Photo Print Kit 7000 denotes the grade of the roll and 6R denotes the print size i.e. 6” x 8” (15.2 cm x 20.3 cm) or 4” x 6” (10.2 cm x 15.2cm). They have stated that in the outer carton the same has been mentioned / printed. But, inadvertently 6R has been missed out in the shipping bill.

Import Product:- The Import Description as per the Norms Committee approval — Wide Rolls of Thermal Photo Paper 7000 whereas the firm has mentioned in the bill of entry Jumbo Rolls of Thermal Photo Paper 7000 They have stated that the mistake was inadvertent, and they have requested to condone the mistake in the descriptions of import and export item.
