Please Note

I. For information of exporters, Norms Committee - II handles all cases pertaining to fixation/ratification of norms for Export Products falling under ITC (HS) Chapter 72 to 76, 78 to 80, 85 .Communications in respect of cases/pertaining to NC- II may be sent to email address: nc2.dgft@nic.in
II. The Norms Committee has taken decision only with respect to technical aspect/wastage norms. While redeeming the applications, RAs should check that the applicant has fulfilled all requirements as prescribed in policy/procedure including those in Policy Circulars issued from time to time or any other provisions under FTP/HBP for EODC.
III. Wherever the Committee has fixed Norms, the concerned RA may ensure that AA is issued on the wastages/consumption as ratified by the Committee or as per wastages claimed in the application, whichever is less.

export to USA. For manufacture of these items, they are importing different electronic components which are assembled and tested. The components are small and prone to damage. The manufacturing operation also involves soldering of small electronic components and there is unavoidable wastage during manufacturing operations. According to them their actual wastage/ rejection is about 5%. After presentation made by the firm’s representatives, due to nature of the components and manufacturing operations involved on components, the Committee after deliberations, decided that wastage of 2 % may be allowed on components in this case in line with other SIONs on electronic components.

The Committee considered the case as per agenda and decided to modify the ad-hoc norms for this A.A., as under:

I. Quantities of import items at Sl. No.1 to 3 & 6 to 8 may be allowed on net content + 2% wastage basis
II. Quantities of import items at Sl. No. 4, 9 to 12 may be allowed on net content + 1% wastage basis.
