Subject: Use of ICETABs for efficient export examination and clearance – reg.
Attention of all concerned is invited to CBIC Circular No. 17/2025-Customs dated
19.06.2025, issued under F. No. 450/128/2024-Cus-IV, whereby the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has directed extension of ICETAB - based examination for export consignments across all Customs formations, with effect from 19.06.2025. 2. Sustained efforts by the CBIC in simplifying trade procedures, enhancing transparency, and adopting best practices have enabled it to achieve steady improvements across various trade facilitation indicators, as reflected in the Global Survey on Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation conducted by the UNESCAP 2023. 3. In view of the objective of trade facilitation, transparency and efficiency in Customs processes, CBIC has decided use of ICETAB for speedy examination of export consignments. With the launch of ICETAB for exports examination, the Examining Officer can seamlessly view the details of the Shipping Bill including the examination order, RMS instructions, supporting documents etc., on ICETAB. Accordingly, there will be no requirement for any paper documents for the purpose of carrying out export examination. 4. Similarly, ICETAB enables Examining Officers to enter examination reports promptly on the ICETAB and also upload four images of the cargo being examined, covering its key aspects. These images will also be available in the e-Sanchit repository for subsequent viewing. 5.
