Subject: Changes in the system to request for Provisional assessment of bills of

entry by Importers – reg. Attention of all Importers/Exporters, Customs Brokers (CBs), Trade Members and Other Stakeholders is invited to the ICES Advisory No. 08/2025 dated 31.01.2025 issued by Directorate General of Systems and Data Management, regarding changes in the system to request for Provisional assessment of bills of entry by Importers. 2. For trade facilitation necessary changes have been made in the System for importers to request for provisional assessment at the time of filing bill of entry, so that there is no requirement to recall RMS facilitated bill of entry. 3. A new field “Prov” has been provided in the system to request for provisional assessment of bill of entry. The importers/CHA while filing bill of entry has to mark this field as “Y” to request for provisional assessment of bill of entry at the time of filing through service center. The same facility will be available on ICEGATE website in due course. Copy of screenshots of the above flag is attached as Annexure to this Public Notice. 4. Officers facing any difficulties or issues may email to saksham.seva@icegate.gov.in. Traders facing any difficulties or issues may email to icegatehelpdesk@icegate.gov.in. 5. Difficulty, if any, in implementation of this Public Notice, may be brought to the notice of the undersigned.
