Bags following Public Notice No. 08/2024 – Representations received from Trade- reg. Attention of Exporters, Importers, Customs Brokers (CBs), Trade Members and other stakeholders is invited to Public Notice No. 08/2024 dated 27.09.2024, issued by this office concerning the import of petroleum products and stipulated safety requirements for said imports. 2. In response to representations received from stakeholders following issue of the Public Notice, after due consideration, it has been decided to provide relief for containers that were gated-in at the Port of Export up to 27.09.2024 (incl. 27.09.2024). Further, the following guidelines to provide operational clarity on the documentation/verification requirements for eligible consignments meeting this criteria, ensuring both regulatory compliance and efficient processing will be adhered to : (i) Documentation required in e-Sanchit: Importers must submit a Certificate from the Shipping Liner indicating the exact gate-in date and time at the Port of Export and upload it in e-Sanchit. (ii) Verification by Customs : Prior to giving Out of Charge (OOC) , the Docks officers shall verify the veracity of the liner’s certificate. This may include cross-checking the gate-in details through available container tracking systems and officers should capture and retain screenshots of the tracking information as part of the verification record. 3.

This Facility Notice is effective immediately and applies to import consignments of Petroleum Products imported in flexi-bags in general-purpose containers, gated-in at the Port of Export before 27th September 2024. 5.
