Subject: Declaration of the empty containers in EDI IGM- reg.

Attention of all Importers, Exporters, Custom House Agents, Shipping Agents and Members of the Trade is invited on the present practice of the declaration and removal of the empty containers. In this regards, it is observed that during filing of IGM, details of the empty containers are not being mentioned in the IGM by the Shipping Lines/ Agents,containers.which is affecting the monitoring of Import and Export of empty and Therefore, in order to streamline the process, all the shipping lines| their agents are hereby directed to declare the details of empty containers in the EDI IGM itself. The related procedure and documentation pertaining to movement of empty containers as outlined in the Public Notice No. 35/2006 dated 11-05-2006 issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Kandla shall be followed. be Any difficulties faced in the implementation of the Public Notice may brought to the notice of the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner (MCD), Custom House, Mundra.
