MINUTES OF 8th MEETING OF AM-22 OF THE EPCG COMMITTEE HELD UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF SHRI S.B.S. REDDY, ADDITIONAL DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE AT 3.00 PM ON 10.11.2021 The eighth meeting for AM-22 of the EPCG Committee was held at 3.00 pm on 10.11.2021 under the chairmanship of Shri S.B.S. Reddy, Additional Director General of Foreign Trade through Video Conferencing mode on Google Meet meeting app due to Covid-19 restrictions. Following officers attended the meeting :- i. Earlier, the firm requested for
waiver of mandatory requirement of maintaining annual average export obligation (AEO) in respect of their EPCG Authorization. It has stated that it could not fulfil annual AEO due to frequent power cuts, load shedding, industrial disputes and pollution problem. The request was considered by the EPCG Committee in its meeting held on 11.09.2020, which after deliberating upon the grounds for relaxation, did not find merit in the request and the case was rejected. Now, the firm has requested review of decision taken in the EPCG Committee Meeting dated 11.09.2020.
The Committee deliberated the
case at length and observed that there is no merit in the request for waiver of average AEO on the grounds cited by the firm. Hence, the Committee decided to maintain rejection.
