Corrected Minutes of the meeting held on 11.04.2017 at 11.00 AM to discuss the cases of import of items under Indo- Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement

As per Annexure-1 to Appendix 2A of FTP, 2015-20 read with Public Notice No. 62 dated 25.02.2016, a total quantity of 2,500 MT of Pepper, 2,50,000 MT of Vanaspati Bakery, Shortening & Margarine and 500 MT of Desiccated Coconut can be imported under the Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement for the financial year 2017-18.

The committee noted that the applicant for import of pepper at Sl. No. 37 have applied for import of 20 MT of black pepper and committee decided to approve 20 MT of black pepper to the firm and balance quantity of 2480 MT may be distributed equally among remaining 59 applicants, which comes 42.03 MT each. For import of Vanaspati Bakery, Shortening & Margarine only one applicant has applied for 12000 MT of Hydrogenated Vegetable Fat, 6000 MT of Palm Oil Bakery Shortening and 2400 MT of Margarine against a quota of 2,50,000 MT.
The committee decided to allow the applicant 12000 MT of Hydrogenated Vegetable Fat and 2400 MT of Margarine.

The committee decided to allow the applicant 12000 MT of Hydrogenated Vegetable Fat and 2400 MT of Margarine. The committee has not allowed 6000 MT of Palm Oil Bakery Shortening as Palm oil Bakery shortening has not been specifically mentioned in Annexure to Appendix-2A. For import of Desiccated Coconut, 5 firms have applied. The committee decided to allow 37.5 MT to the firm at Sl. No. 2 and 75 MT to the firm at Sl. No 1 of above Table and balance quantity of 387.50 MT may be distributed among other three firms equally which comes to 129.16 MT.

Accordingly, the quantity of Pepper, Vanaspati Bakery, Shortening & Margarine and Desiccated Coconut allotted to the applicants is as given below:

The concerned Regional Authorities of DGFT are required to issue import authorizations to the applicants as mentioned in Para 6 above. RA must cross verify the details mentioned in the import authorization with that as stated in the ANF-2M submitted by the applicant and also must ensure that the requisite fee has been paid.
