Minutes of Exim Facilitation Committee  Meeting held on 10/5/2007 to Consider application for issue of import licence for Import of Hydrogenated Vegetable Oils (Vanaspati), Bakery Shortening, Margarine for the year 2007­08     A  EFC  Meeting  was  held  on  10/5/2007  to  consider  the  applications  of  Indian  Importers  for  import  of  Vanaspathi/Bakery  Shortening/ Margarine for the first quarter of 2007­08 under Indo­Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement under the Chairmanship of Dr. S. Agrawal, Addl.DGFT.   Shri Rajiv Kumar, US, Min. of Agriculture and Cooperation, Shri Rajiv Kumar, US, Min. of Commerce and Ms. Sangeeta Singh, Jt.DGFT have attended the meeting.   The committee decided to allocate the quantity to the Indian importers as per details given below:­   Vanaspati   Sl. qual quarterly installments to be spread on  monthly  basis.  Though  the  Public  Notice  No.4  dated  7/5/2007  has  stated  that  the  total  quantum  of  import  of  vansaspati  including  bakery shortening and margarine for the year 2007­08 in four equal quarterly installments to be spread on monthly basis, however due to time constraint the approval have been considered on quarterly basis for the 1st quarter. But in future the allocation of quantity would be consider on monthly basis till any further amendment in above said Notice.

In this connection it is proposed that a notice may be displayed on the website of DGFT that in future the quota will allocated on monthly basis.  Application should be submitted by the 15th of the June for consideration of allocation of quota for the month of July 2007.               The allocation of balance unutilized quota for the 1st quarter will be decided in the 1st week of June 2007.               Meeting ended with thanks to the chair.
