MINUTES OF EFC NO. 03/AM12  DATED 20.06.2011   Meeting No. 03/AM12 of EXIM Facilitation Committee (EFC) was held on 20.06.2011 under Chairmanship of Shri Amitabh Jain, IAS, Additional Director General of Foreign Trade.   2.             Following officers attended the meeting: 1.             Ms. Shubhra,  Jt.DGFT                                                                      DGFT 2.             Shri K.K. Sinha, IA                                                                               DIPP 3.             Representative from                                                                           MHA 4.             Mrs. Amarjeet Sroa, FTDO                                                                                DGFT   Import Cases (Total 154 Cases)   2.         Following decisions were taken:   2.1       The Committee noted that though the agenda for the EFC meeting has been sent to the concerned Administrative Ministries / Department, yet their representatives are not attending the EFC meeting(s) resulting in delay in deciding the applications.  The Committee decided that this may be brought to the notice of the concerned JS of the Administrative Ministry with the request to direct the concerned officer to attend the EFC meeting on regular basis and furnish their comments.     2.2       The Committee also noted that in the past D/o AHD&F had recommended import of few items such as Rats / Mice / Horses / SPF Eggs / Live Fish / Ostrich Chicks / Beagles Dogs / Frozen bovine Semen  etc by the various importers from a specific country.  Requests for import of same and similar items / country have been listed in the agenda and could not be decided in the absence of specific comments of D/o AHD&F on the application. The Committee, in order to quick disposal of the application(s), decided that a list of such items may be prepare items­wise and country wise, where D/o AHD&F had recommended the import.   3.         After deliberations, following decisions were taken:   3. 1     Following 37 applications for import were approved. The Committee observed that against the total available quantity of 5  Lakh  MTs  under  TRQ  Scheme,  STEs  (STC,  MMTC  and  PEC) have filed their applications for import of only 42,158.40 within the due  date  i.e.  15.6.2011.    The  Committee  decided to approve the case  for  import  of  42,158.40  MTs  for  import  by  STC, MMTC and PEC.    As  regards,  those  applications  received  directly  in  this Directorate or after last date of filing the application, the Committee did  not  consider  such  requests  for  grant  of  import  authorisation under the TRQ scheme.       3.2           Following 97 applications for import were deferred.
