Kind attention is invited to the Notice and corrigendum for Customs Broker Examination issued by the Directorate General of Performance Management, Customs and GST, New Delhi (Annexure I & II). It is hereby notified that the written examination under Regulation 6 of the Customs Broker licensing regulation (CBLR, 2018) which is a pre-requisite for grant of Customs Brokers license will be conducted on 18.01.2019 by this Commissionerate. 2: An individual applicant or in case the applicant is a firm, its partner or in the case of a company, its director or an authorised employee who may handle the Customs work, shall before applying to the Principal Commissioner of Customs or Commissioner of Customs, meet the following conditions that: (a) he is an Indian Citizen: , (b) he is a person of sound mind; (c) he has not been adjudicated as an insolvent; (d) he holds an Aadhaar number; (e) he holds a valid PAN card; (f) he has not been penalised for any offence under the Act, the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Finance Act, 1994(32 of 1994), the Central Goods and Services Act, 2017 (12 of 2017) and Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (13 of 2017);

e Act, the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Finance Act, 1994(32 of 1994), the Central Goods and Services Act, 2017 (12 of 2017) and Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (13 of 2017); (g) he has neither been convicted by a competent court for an offence nor any criminal proceeding is pending against him in any court of law; (h) the applicant has financial viability as evidenced by a certificate issued by a Scheduled Bank or such other proof acceptable to the Principal Commissioner of Customs or Commissioner of Customs, as the case may be, in terms of possession of assets of value of not less than five lakh rupees; Possess any of the following education/ professional qualifications as prescribed under Regulation 5 of CBLR,2018 is eligible for the said examination:

(i) Graduate from a recognized university: and posses a professional degree such as Masters or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or Management, CA/CS/MBA/LLM/ACMA/FCMA or Diploma in Customs Clearance work from any Institutes or University recognized by the Government or is having at least two years experience in transacting Customs Broker work as G-Card holder;

(ii) is a retired Group A officer from the Indian Revenue Service (Customs and GST) having a minimum of five years’ experience in Group 'A' post shall also be eligible to apply for a license to act as a Customs Broker provided he satisfies the conditions specified at 2(a), 2(b), 2(c), 2(d), 2(e), 2(f) and 2(g) of this public notice. 3 Customs Broker License holders who have been granted permission to operate the license under Regulation 11(3) or 12(2) of CBLR, 2018 may also apply or nominate their employees/ directors/partners possessing the above mentioned qualification to appear for the said written examination.

4 Candidates have the option to answer the question either in Hindi or in English. The date of written examination shall not change even if it is declared a holiday. Syllabus of the examination is given in regulation 6 of CBLR, 2018. For

An applicant shall be allowed a maximum of six attempts to clear the examination and no further extension shall be granted as per the provisions of Regulation 6 (6) of CBLR, 2018. ts Information regarding final list of eligible candidates, Roll Numbers, seating arrangements and venue for the exam etc., will be uploaded on the website (www.mundracustoms.gov.in) as well as on Notice Board of the Customs Broker Section, in due course. The application should be submitted in form ‘A’ given at Annexure III along with two passport size photos (self attested) and attested documents on citizenship, educational qualification and financial requirement. The list of the said documents is annexed at Annexure -IV.

  1. The application for the examination should reach this office (Room No. 104, 1st Floor, CBLR Section, Custom House Mundra) from 15.10.2018 to 16.11.2018 (both dates including). No applications will be accepted before the starting date of receipt i.e 15.10.2018 and after the expiry of the last date i.e 16.11.2018 (6:00 PM) for submission of applications.

  1. Incomplete applications shall be summarily rejected. 10. In case the declarations/Signature made and/or documents furnished are found to be false/incorrect/forged at any time before or after the said examination or even after the grant of the Customs Broker license, not only the application would be liable to be rejected or license to be cancelled but also an appropriate action proceedings would be initiated against the candidate as per provisions of CBLR, 2018 and any other law for the time being in force.
