DGFT Committee Minutes

Minutes of the Meeting of the Exim Facilitation Committee No:2/ AM07 Dated  ­ 29.8.2006 to consider the application for grant of import license for import of various items  under the TRQ Scheme for the year 2006­07.     The Meeting  of the Exim Facilitation Committee held on 29.8.2006 under the Chairmanship of Shri N.K. Gupta, Addl.DGFT considered the applicatios received by the last date (31/07/06) as stipu                                                lated by Public Notice No.31 dated 13/07/06 for grant of import license under the TRQ Scheme­ 2006­07 .      The Committee noted that only one application has been received from M/s. PEC Ltd, New Delhi, for grant of import license for import of 409 M.T. of Maize (Corn)  under TRQ Scheme during the extended application period .   The Committee also noted that only  1842.7 M.T. of Maize (Corn) has been allocated and a huge quantity of Maize (Corn) is lying unutilized.   The representative of the Deptt. of Agriculture & Cooperation Shri Sunil Kumar, SO(Trade) present in the meeting conveyed “No objection” of their Department to the issue of import license to the firm subject to the condition that Maize (Corn) of other than seed quality only  will be allowed for import.   In view of the comments of the  Deptt. of Agriculture & Cooperation the Committee decided to grant the import license to the firm for import of 409 M.T. of Maize (corn) of other than seed quality.             The Meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
