Subject:- Customs working on 24 X 7, extension of working of assessment group on all Saturdays except IInd Saturday -Reg.

Attention of the Importers, Exporters, General Trade, Port Terminal Operator, Shipping Lines / Shipping Agents, CFSs coming under the jurisdiction of Custom House, Mundra and all other stakeholders is invited to various other decisions communicated through Public Notices issued from time to time on specified working hours for various Customs activities.

. Customs is working on 24 X 7 basis as regards to various customs activities and committed to provide efficient & prompt services. It has been represented by Trade / Importers that they are facing difficulties in early clearance of cargo if Bill of entry is filed either on Friday evening or Saturdays as they have to wait till next working day if such Bill of entry is not facilitated for assessment. It has also been noticed that though number of such import declarations (Bills of Entry) are less in numbers but there is need to provide for mechanism / institutional set up so that there is no delay in clearance of such consignments.

3. Therefore, it has been decided that all assessment group will also function on every Saturday except IInd Saturday.

4. It has to be ensured by each assessment group working on such Saturdays that there is no pendency of bill of entry by the end of day.
