Face Enrollment — Image Capturing Guidelines & Best Practices

This document provides guidelines and best practices for capturing facial images for Enrollment.

1. Venue Guidelines (Image Capture Location Requirements)

The location where images are captured should meet the following conditions:

• e The place should have proper lighting conditions. e Lighting should not create reflections on the face or forehead or on Camera. e The background should not be noisy or cluttered. e The background should be plain and stable — a white background is preferred. e Avoid dark environments, multi-colour lights etc.

2. Image Capture Guidelines

• e Capture the image against a stable background (white preferred). e Image resolution should not be less than 250 x 250 pixels.

• e It is recommended to capture the image up to the shoulders only.

• e The face should be straight and clearly visible. e Both eyes must be open and clearly visible.

• e Do not raise or lower the head.

• e Ensure both shoulders are clearly visible in the image.

• e Do not wear a mask, hat, sunglasses, or eye patches.

• e Avoid thick or heavy makeup.

• e Do not use edited, filtered, or digitally corrected images. e Do not use group photographs. e Ensure the image is sharp and not blurred.

3. Image Storage Guidelines

• e Make sure the images are with Supported image formats only : JPG, JPEG, PNG. e Image size should not exceed 10 MB.

• e All images should be kept in one dedicated folder. e The image file name must be the User ID / Employee Code (as per BioStar 2 or the CSV file).

• e Only one photograph per user is required.

• e Avoid keeping multiple photographs of the same user in the folder.

• e Do not use special characters** in the image file name.

• e The file name must exactly match the User ID used in the system.
