regarding problems faced by EOUs in the context of GST.
Dear Colleagues,
After introduction of GST, we have been receiving a number of issues from the EOUs regarding day to day operations under GST. Accordingly, we had organised an interaction with the officers of Directorate General Export Promotion, Department of Revenue in the office of DGEP to apprise them about the issues relating to EOUs. I had also written a letter to all concerned for issuing a circular on EOUs related issues.
Now DGEP, Department of Revenue has issued Circular No.29/2017- Customs dt. 17.07.2017 clarifying the issues relating to EOUs specifically relating to B-17 bond Vs. continuity bond, requirement of giving information about estimated quantity and value of goods to be imported, procedure of inter unit transfer etc.
Department of Revenue has also issued another Circular No.25/2017- Customs dt. 30.06.2017 wherein it has also been clarified "Till such time Board issues notifications modifying the jurisdiction of Commissionerates of Customs which will take over the Customs work performed in Central Excise Commissionerates, the functions bestowed upon the Deputy Commissioner of Customs or Assistant Commissioner of Customs having jurisdiction over the premises in the new rules, shall be continued to be performed by the officers of the jurisdictional Central Excise Commissionerates like before."
